He moved to Needles, searching his soul, pining for his lost woman, she had left him right before Christmas eve.
Needless to say, his heart was broken, and he pondered the true meaning of life.
There was a sound in the distance, gaining volume as the sound of huffing and bells rang near.
Looking to the sky, noticing golden blades, shining brightly and hooves of tiny antlered animals, he was amazed.
Then the sounds of “Ho, ho, ho.” rang in his ears.
Gazing at the cactus and watching in amazement as the sleigh swooped down to land, he was once again revived to memories of his childhood, when life felt innocent and hope sprang in the daylight, and at this thought the smell of the pine trees overcame his senses and he was once again renewed to the meaning of hope.
WHAT!!! It’s December already! Well let’s get this decorated with some Thankfuls!!
1. Art – I was able to work on a watercolor at the senior meetup yesterday, while everybody made it to the lunch beforehand, they had other plans or go to chatting long after I left the restaurant, but no worries. I had the whole art room to myself and got some good headway on my secret project. Photo by Sharon McCutcheon on Pexels.com
2. Music – I learned yesterday that signing show tunes could help with Alzheimer’s. While I am a bit skeptical, but I do know that learning new things is great mind stimulation, I am trying to broaden my musical choices. I don’t think this has to be exclusive to show tunes and that’s a good thing because I know few. Daddy sang country music around the house, usually at night, while we were growing up. Later in life, post Alzheimer’s, he was more interested in country gospel and sang with some others at the assisted living. He did not pass from Alzheimer’s, but his cognitive understanding seemed to be later in onset than what you typically see. So, maybe there is something to this. Prompt: Ring
3. I Write Her Challenge is back up and running, thanks to Susi Bocks, the prolific writer who keeps us going with haiku and senryu ekphrastic interpretations. Here is this weeks: Circle of Life

Letting go of all future concerns, it was difficult for Edward.
Edward had a heritage of hard-working family who instilled a work ethic.
Gently, Elaine helped Edward to his favorite resting chair so he could enjoy the sunbeams.
Even with plenty of love in place, supporting his every need, Edward felt sad.
Needing the help of others, Edward felt ashamed.
Determined to be the legend who wins, Edward set forth a plan.
