Happy March and TTOT Time!

It’s actually World Writers’ Day! I posted about that just a moment ago. If you are a writer or are thinking about working on writing skills, it’s a great day to get started!

  1. I am thankful to be a writer. I may not be perfect, but I try my best. What is most important to me is to keep trying. We all have a story to tell…
  2. That is my #2 thankful. I am thankful that people tell their stories. Whether fact or fiction or a mix of both, I love to read stories. I am thankful that I was able to finish reading a book yesterday.
  3. The Storied Life of AJ Fikry is the story I finished reading. I have seen the movie and decided to compare the book to the movie. I found some answers in the book that filled in the blanks. I am glad I read the book, for this reason.
  4. My baby rose bush is budding and it’s so cool to watch it. I keep it at my desk by the window and it’s very thankful as the sun comes in at just the right amount. Once it warms up steadier outside, I will move her out there.
  5. This week is a heavy week for me. I have a Women in Publishing Summit from tomorrow through Saturday. It’s going to be interesting; I am sure, and I am grateful I am able to do this via Zoom. There are also two other events at the same time, but thanks to recordings, I can get in all three. It’s just going to mean that I watch some videos next week.
  6. This cardinal has been visiting my porch on a regular basis. We don’t get them, normally, but I believe this is the same one, just one, coming around. He’s looking at the outdoor plants.
  7. Maintenance is a benefit when you rent. I am grateful for maintenance who fixed an urgent matter in the same day.
  8. I found turkey on sale for .79 a pound. It is a small one, which I prefer. We like turkey any time of the year.
  9. Daughter has been trying pickleball with her friend and is loving it. She is also starting a bowling team. She’s pretty pleased.
  10. YOU What’s your thankful? Let’s hear it!

Happy Month of Love and TTOT! Let’s hop to it!

  1. Black History Month – If you have been hanging out at my blog, you can see how thankful I am for this month. Why not have the month of love aligned with Black History? It sounds like a great precedent to set. AMIRIGHT?
  2. Love is Love and I love that it is love. I am thankful for love in all the kinds called love.
  3. I picked up a rose bush. It’s miniature roses and so cute. Well, I gave it a pruning and new buds are saying “hello.”

4. Overcoming challenges with a special project, new to me, that now is a success. WHEW!

5. Getting caught up on projects, working ahead, so I can work on practicing some things to be done soon.

6. A good health report.

7. The snow has melted. I will say it was pretty. I am done now, though.

8. Daughter has these projects she is working hard on, and I am so proud of her for pursuing new ventures.

9. My electric throw blanket which may be saving my life. Well, not really, but I will say it’s making a difference. Still grateful to Wendy for this gift. She’s so sweet.

10. YOU and What’s your thankful today?

Ten Things of Thankful-March 30, 2024

Happy TTOT time! And March, in this neck of the woods, has turned into a gentle lamb. We are looking at 77 degrees today, daughter is in shorts (I have a sweater on), and the weekend looks to be gorgeous. How many thankfuls did you count?

It’s that time of year when I am lucky to see my sweetheart by 9 p.m. Yes…tax season is strong and healthy. The good news is that his office is feeding him supper. He shared the menu with me, and I started plotting how I could go help at the office. We have worked for the same firm before, but that’s not happening this time. He’s the only CPA with whom I would work alongside. I will listen to feedback about which dishes he liked, so I can make them for him later on. I learned from this last year that he found shrimp and grits to be delicious. Well, I did not know this, and I know how to make that dish. He’s had it a few times since-from my kitchen. I loved learning he liked them, also because that is one of my favorite dishes.

It’s been a super busy time in the publishing scene. We bumped up two books, by special request. My norm is one book per month. I am grateful to see the other side of this very soon. We’ve had great book launches and I was honored to do one for my favorite SistersRoc’N’Rhyme duo. We even did one with a mixed venue of live, on site while the rest of the participants were virtual. It went well.

This upcoming week is National Poetry Month and that changes our focus. You may be seeing more posts and poetry. The poster for this year is amazing.

Daughter is doing well with her Aloha Ambassador program. She’s oriented new members to the program and it’s gone well. She has arthroscopic knee surgery soon. The date is not set, but should be set up next week., We pray she finds relief after they rework her knee. It worked for me when I was in my twenties. Back then, you stayed in bed with a cast because they did long incisions. Then you lugged the cast around for a bit. So, I am grateful for much less invasive surgeries.

I think that there are at least ten things highlighted up there. And I am confident there will be more to come. May you know these blessings as well.

Ten Things of Thankful – August 21 2020

Happy Friday and Happy TTOT! Let’s get started!

  1. It’s cooled down! WHEW!!
  2. Remember the Scavenger Hunt last week? Well, we picked up the prizes yesterday and WOOWEE there were gift cards all totaling $30.
  3. I am almost to the end of a special project, anticipating total endness by Monday.
  4. I am keeping up with the poetry book a day. It’s been educational and uplifting.
  5. Uplifting messages through various media forms make me smile and often it is a simple statement.
  6. Poetry Critique group to help me be a better poet and I hope I help them too.
  7. It’s just been recently that I have had the itch to get out in the world, especially missing coffee shop hanging out. But, I can still mobile ahead and pick up or drive thru, but the feeling of sitting in a coffee shop is missing. They did open up the renovated clubhouse at our property. We can go there for coffee, but you sure need to mask up and be super cautious. Because…cooties…
  8. Opportunities for penance. I am glad I can repent for something I feel remorseful about.
  9. Saving the news for almost last. Poet and friend to me Aruna Gurumurthy’s book was published yesterday. I was an editor for the book, so I feel celebratory, as well. Down the Grassy Aisles was published by Kelsay Books.

10. YOU!! Here’s a chance to share your TTOT’s! Join us, why doncha?

Ten Things of Thankful – July 31 2020

Happy Friday and TTOT Day! Let’s jump in!

  1. Beaches – I have seen so many pics lately of people at the beach and while I was worried about the pandemic, it seems that those who chose to go used just as many precautions as they would if they stayed home. It is not my place to judge, but I can be concerned. Fortunately, nobody seems to be any more at risk by going, again, because they made wise choices. I am grateful for wise choices.
  2. Patterns for masks. Daughter has been cutting out fabric for masks and I am grateful she can do this. Sewing them to come soon.
  3. Online opportunities. This week our Triangle Association of Freelancers “TAF” had the monthly meeting online via Zoom. I love getting together with these folks and there is always a special presentation.
  4. Friday Noon Poets is a group who has been meeting in Chapel Hill, but with Zoom we are meeting on Friday’s. I am grateful for this lovely group.
  5. Daughter was able to get a day of work this week and will work next week.
  6. Completion of a special project to be announced.
  7. A friend got into a new apartment which was much needed. Today is her moving day.
  8. “5 Day Tales” I have been following. Here is the link in case you want to start reading.
  9. The pool is opening possibly this weekend. They have good rules.
  10. YOU! What have you to add for your Thankfuls? Give it a try. You will be glad you did.
