Circle of Life

Lovers Wait

Cherubs find their way
While those to be know to wait
For the arrows pull

Life Forces Move

Waves of life pull fast
Tides allow the wash to slide
Planets turn their heads

Cycling Forever

Mastering this life
Pushing forth to grow and bloom
Make for many more

Stones of the Graveyard

GRaveyard Photo by Toa Heftiba on Unsplash

Stones of the graveyard
Once lived in the hills yonder
Where the owls hooted

at night

Still, you can hear their longing
For that place they once called home

Oh, why did they take
All those stones from the mountain
Making it a platte

of water

Only to rest around death
Leaving souls to wonder why

Could they not see
That which is natural stone

Had a place to be

Called away from nature’s home
Crumbling for the last of life

Only death could find
A better way to live than this
Ashes forth and gone
Leaving the life instead for
Many birds and many songs

Ten Things of Thankful – November 29

Oh my! Where did November go? I don’t know about you, but I am sitting here wishing for a cup of cocoa, my crocheting, and putting my feet up. So, without further delay and before that last plate of turkey, here are my TTOTs!!

1. My Post (17)
I am grateful for mentors and this week I have someone who is helping me refresh my old skills and add some new ones.

2. My Post (16)

3. My Post (15).png
My dear one gave me this thankful and I wholeheartedly agree.

4. I am grateful that one of the people I met via another group asked for people’s Flash Fiction stories for her podcast and mine among those featured today. It was kinda cool to hear somebody read my story out loud. Here it is:
Episode 8: Final Friday Edition Here’s the link to the original story: Bottled Up

5. Six Sentence Story – I am super grateful for Denise providing us with prompts every week. This week the prompt word was “Pound” and I decided to something about eating disorders, a subject near to my heart. While the subject matter may be sad, the meaning is important and I am grateful to be able to try, at least, to reach out on this one. Here it is: Clearly Stricken

6. Living Poetry Monday Prompt – this is something I look forward to on Monday mornings and that is the weekly prompt. Bartholomew Barker does this with such dedication and here is this weeks response: Souls for Loaves

Grateful I don’t need to go get butter for biscuits on Black Friday – This Happened to Me, But Never Again!

8. This RECIPE which I changed into pumpkin ice cream instead of making pumpkin pie and it has no sugar.

9. That is 1943 daddy had this Thanksgiving dinner on the USSNCBB55

“On the evening of November 25, 1943, we had our first real action. The day was Thanksgiving. We had a swell turkey dinner that afternoon. Air defense was sounded that evening and we went to our stations. After about 20 minutes our anti-aircraft battery cut loose and for the first time we were conscious of a formidable enemy.”
Lloyd Glick, Musician 1/c

10. Last, but not the least here is the place where you can offer your thankfuls. I can’t wait to hear!

Souls for Loaves

I found this wonderful site with 5 Poems by the late Toni Morrison

And this is my dedication:

Souls for Loaves

In gratitude for souls
who wish to share their words
making life treasured
by simply placing their thoughts
in ways that challenge our lives

She speaks of the grains
simply stated yet so poised
touching deepest thoughts
and making the soul wonder
if there’s more to this blessed life

Weaving rich entwined
wheats own natural beauty
designed to enrich
more than the stomach but souls
as the heart strengthens its match

It’s that time again to reflect on all things one is grateful for and let’s go to it!

1. Exercise – I am grateful that I was able to exercise by walking outside this week. It is BEAUTIFUL out there and I won’t be long for it to be BOO-TI-FUL for Halloween.

2. Recipes – On Everybody Loves Raymond there is this one episode where Debra makes Ray some Beef Braciole – well I have never had such and decided to go to Mr. Google and ask for the recipe. It is now printed and I have all the ingredients for when daughter comes next weekend. I try to save special things like that for when she comes. Here is the RECIPE I love that I can go online and find just about everything in recipes.

3. Halloween fun! I saw this post and had to share. It’s fun edible Halloween party food. HERE

4. One year, at my church, we had a Halloween party and passed around food you could not see and you had to guess what it was. One was frozen grapes and they called them eyeballs. I am thankful for these kinds of goofy fun things and not taking everything so serious.

5. Chili Cook Off and Trunk or Treat for my daughter. She is at her church tonight participating in both. Doesn’t that sounds like fun?!

6. Zoodles – Notice a food theme here? I made these delicious zoodles with some garlic along with meatballs n sauce for supper. I am grateful to be able to have these kinds of things to help me keep my weight down and my happy stat up.

7. I Write Her Challenge was especially a hoot this week. Here is my story LINK: Palomino Ponderings
1-4

8. Blog Group – I belong to a local group called Raleigh NC Bloggers and we get together in actual person and work on our blogs. It is so much fun to connect with others in person. We met last Saturday and got a lot accomplished and we are going to have someone talk to us about E-Books soon!

9. NANOWRIMO is coming in November. I have my title all set and started thinking about the layout. Right now it’s still a working title and I will share more about that in November. Gotta keep you in suspense. Here is a link to NANOWRIMO Anybody else going to join?

10. And lastly but not leastly is this place set for you at the Table of Gratitude where you can have a cuppa with us and share your happys. Hope you will come on in.
