It’s been probably over a year since I was introduced to TTOT by Wendy And it’s been on every since! Thank you to my dear friend for introducing me to the blog. It’s been 7 years since TTOT began and the current person who keeps us going is Kristi. I am thankful for this blog and the relationships I have built with other bloggers here. So, that is my #1. Thankful for this week is I am thankful for TTOT. Kristi has extended to me the honor of posting access links to the bloghop each week. Thank you, Kristi for trusting me with this and for being a true friend. #2 Thankful is for this week. Well, it’s been one of the toughest weeks on the emotions of not only the U.S. but the world. I am thankful that I can ask for all of us to take a moment of silence to honor those lost and their families and friends as there is more grief than one can imagine, yet there is so much more than grief, there are a whole gamut of emotions. As one who can usually find the words, I have struggled with this one. When the heart is stuck in the throat, it’s hard to verbalize. Let us hope and that is the best word I can think of is HOPE for healing, progress, and eternal salvation for the damages done in this world. I am reminded of the scriptures: Matthew 5:9 Even if you are not a believer in the scriptures, perhaps the words will still mean something.

#4 Thankful that we can call the maintenance people for wet floors of the mysterious kind. It’s still a mystery, but it’s a mystery being solved.

#5 Thankful my family are good sports when I ask them to take pictures for this weeks blog.

#7. I am editing a murder mystery with lots of chill bumping scenes.

#8 We have had some walking weather.

Such a passion for life, he had heartfelt goals; raising his daughter to become a confident woman; he lived his life to become the best man for his family; he saw the worth of souls and was a shining light to those who knew him.

Now, he is gone.

Just like that; He has been preparing his entire life for his homegoing; but it was not to be his time, just yet. He had two daughters and a son to live out his life for, to witness their walks of life, yet he is gone.

A man’s last words became his call to live and just like that he was denied. I envision his mother heard him and took him in her arms; and while his life on earth is over, let not his soul be wasted, let not his purpose be forgotten, and may we only hope to walk down the aisles of life with the passion of this man, this man who wanted to breathe.

Ten Things of Thankful – May 29 2020

It’s that time again for Ten Things of Thankful! Hard to believe it’s already the end of May, but with ends come beginnings. Let’s see what’s happened and what’s to come!

This ends the month of many activities, mostly indoors, but good activities. I have had opportunities to participate in old skill projects as well as develop newer skills. All in all, it’s been a great month for getting things done. I am most thankful for learning and growing. We are never too old to learn new things.
I participated, by now, in three poetry critique groups and these have been helpful in my becoming a better poet. Since the meetings, I have polished my work and hope to eventually submit these for other eyes in the publishing sector.
Last night, I was in the audience for poetry readings for the Heron Clan poetry publication. While I submitted, but my work was not accepted, it was nice to hear from others who did get published, many of whom were published thrice. It is always great to be among my people in the poetry world.
Poet’s Connection is going well and I look forward to each meeting. We are doing the virtual meetings monthly and whenever we get back to face to face I would still like to do the virtual meetings. It provides opportunities for folks who are a greater distance to join.
Poetry editing is going well and I am in the midst of helping with a big project.
Daughter has gotten me hooked into helping her with card making. Such a chore, I say tongue in cheek. Seriously, it is fun to help her. I am more the consultant for selecting colors and layout. She provides the parts, stamped and colored pictures.
Grateful for food as it can be a challenge to shop. Meat limitations as they are I am grateful I know how to make meatless meals.
Raleigh NC Bloggers help keep me spirited, providing support to on another. YAY for support.
Thank you Word Press for making me need two cups of coffee to figure out the new editor. I am sure it will be better, so really, I may as well be grateful. Now, I must be less lazy, so that’s a good grat, right?

Right or Wrong – Wanda Jackson

“Right or Wrong” is a country music song written and performed by Wanda Jackson and recorded by other artists, including Ronnie Dove. When I listen to the song, I wonder what the right or wrong conflict was, but do not find an explanation anywhere.
A further delve into Wikipedia tells me about Miss Jackson and I came across an interview. It is worth a listen. It is lovely to hear her voice as she tells her story.

Living histories were done by the USS North Carolina BB55 and I have our father’s history recorded in audio format. This interview motivates me to get his words posted online and when I do, I will post it right here on my blog.
