Theory of Love

Shandy sat on the couch, pondering what she was to do with her life after her husband passed away. She had always been focused on him and their son and the idea of doing anything different for herself was foreign. In a way, she was puzzled over what was even missing in her life. She had been a loving, supportive wife and mother, by all the ways she cared for her family. By any means, she decided one thing for certain, she had to find out if she really liked who she was and then decide if this also meant she felt self-love. She got up off the couch, ventured out for a hike, and decided to do what made her smile, knowing this would lead to one thing, in theory, that all components of a happy life for her needed to be explored, then she would know what truly fed her soul.

Ten Things of Thankful – March 5 2021

Photo by Bich Tran on Pexels.com

It’s already March! No way! Well, let’s hop to it before all of a sudden it’s April!

  1. Grocery specials-LOVE even more when it is coffee!
  2. Enthusiastic People-LOVE when I ask someone to help me and they don’t hesitate to say YES
  3. Pleasant Surprises-Daughter gave me some pretty decorative papers I can use for projects. She received them from a friend who had more than she needed.
  4. Sketchbook Revival is coming this month and daughter and I will participate in the program like we did last time. Click on the name up there and check it out and it is FREE!
  5. It is both Woman’s Month and Reading Month and what a lovely combo! I am looking forward to National Poetry Month, as well. So, I am thankful for these moments to celebrate!
  6. We had a package arrive and it took us a good while to order it because of all the specific details, and when we got it – it was all wrong, so wrong that it would cost us more money to resolve the issue, so we called customer service and returned it in the blink of an eye. I am grateful there was no drama.
  7. Health goals are being met.
  8. Writing goals are being met.
  9. Connecting with people who share a spiritual belief, simply for the assurance that hope is real
  10. YOU! What are you thankfuls? Come share… Rusty wants to know… In fact, he’s all ears!

Poets Coffee Table Talks

Photo by Lisa Fotios on Pexels.com

Imagine sitting around the table in a coffee house like in the old days. Remember the beatnik days? Then you may be a baby boomer, like me. Perhaps you are more into another scene, open mics at the local coffee shop or bar. Well, it’s now 2021 and we get to do these things virtually. That’s right! You can wear your beanie, scarves, have your favorite beverage and snacks and participate in the Poets Coffee Table Talk held in your home on your computer, tablet, phone…

National Poetry Month is coming in April. There is something planned for every day of the month. One of many events will be the Coffee Table Talks to be held each Monday night in April. We will have panelists who will speak about a variety of topics, each week being something different. Come join us for one, two, three, or even all four sessions. Take a look and sign up if you would like to join. If you are not wanting to sign up on the Meetup page, go to the comments on this page and provide your email and I will send the link.

Poet Talk with Jim Krosschell Prolific Pulse Press Podcast

Jim Krosschell and I sat down for a discussion about his latest poetry book release "Man Afield" and more. About "Man Afield"Man Afield is a lyrical journey through the living world, guided by a backyard naturalist attuned to both wonder and warning. These poems chronicle spiritual and physical excursions into landscapes larger than any one mind or body — places where awe, joy, disorientation, and reckoning intertwine. Organized in six evocative sections, the collection:I. bears witness from a seaside deck;II. wanders through yard and neighboring woods;III. explores the shifting shoreline;IV. imagines the vast and restless ocean;V. surveys the scars of environmental damage;VI. honors home in its many meanings. Throughout, the poems dwell in the charged space where humans and the natural world meet. They examine our peculiar paradox: we are the only species that knowingly fouls its own nest — and the only one capable of choosing restraint. With clear-eyed honesty, Man Afield mourns the grinding erosion of precious places while celebrating the stubborn beauty that persists despite us — and sometimes because of us. From deck to forest trail, from tidal pull to smoke-streaked sky, these poems trace one person’s evolving relationship with plants, animals, weather, memory, and spirit. Intimate yet expansive, they invite readers to travel outward into the wild and inward toward belonging.Man Afield is at once a field journal, a meditation, and a love song — to earth, to home, and to the fragile bond between them.Learn more and make your purchase: https://www.prolificpulse.com/jimkrosschell
