Today’s is April Fool’s Day and for this day’s poetry prompt how about a poem about April fools, any fools, foolishness, the joke’s on you or anything else which strikes your fancy. As a fun bonus, try a poem inspired by the above photo.
If you would like another prompt you could also check out:
Robert Lee Brewer’s Poetic Asides presents the first of the National Poetry Month prompts: “For today’s prompt, write a new world poem. There are new worlds and there are new worlds. You could write a poem about discovery of an actual planet. Or maybe your new world is actually a state of mind—or a series of books! In a way, I consider each new challenge a bit of a new world. Let’s explore this one together.
Remember: These prompts are just springboards; you have the freedom to jump in any direction you want. In other words, it’s more important to write a new poem than to stick to the prompt.”
Good Luck and Happy Writing!

Staying the course of the foundation of the sands, only adjusting to the effects of the tides, I can still stand while being sure of not going too far. To go astray has such appeal as much as being on solid ground. Oh, to be grounded, but in movement is even more.
Staying on life’s course
Keeping my feet on firm ground
Moving as I will

As the guests came into the parlor, they saw the vase in all glory, filled with roses and daisies.
Mastering the art of floral arrangements, she won first prize in the Blooming Beauties for the first time.
Empty of the floral arrangement, lasting a mere moment in the light of day, the governing force confiscated the vase.
Denying any involvement, she pleads her innocence for the theft of the priceless vase, once in the governor’s mansion, part of the collection spanning many years past.
