Remote Control

Sarenda landed a remote spot on the edge of awareness, but close to comfort

She found a picnic table to start each day with coffee and cereal before logging in

Scenery was often inspiring to her thoughts and she cranked out many warm words

Some were rather hot, even spicy, but not too untame for modern species

Cats got your tongue, ran through her mind in remembrance of teaseful times

She found her claim on this space to be just the right amount of remote control

Happy Friday and TTOT day! Where did the week go? I better hurry before it’s the 13th!

Grateful for progress with daughter’s PT
Grateful for progress with other person’s medical successes.
Grateful for planning fun things.
Grateful for surviving each day a little better after my booster.
Grateful for a wedding invitation from a child I have known since birth. Over the years we didn’t see each other so much due to geographical changes. It’s nice to be included.
It has been lovely weather, less rainy this week.
You can always count on the weather to find a way to bring cheer.
Hope for those who seemed to have none.
Goodness in the hearts of humankind.

Term Limits

Randy sat at the typewriter, pecking away, setting his sights on the clock, ticking to 4 a.m. on the due date of his term paper. He knew he should have started sooner, but he was a working student who needed the money to keep up with school costs.

The student rubbed his eyes, stood up and stretched, and grabbed one more coffee before gathering his papers and heading to the student union. Wouldn’t you know it, he thought, the copiers are all in use. Finally, he saw an opening and took his station and copied his paper. Another term paper down, Randy left to drop it off to his professor, the drop off box was filling up fast, Randy knocked on the professor’s door to let him know, only to be told by the secretary that the professor would be gone for a week long break, returning to collect the term papers to grade when he returned.

So, there you have it! My Six Sentence Story. Poor Randy was tired and I hope he was able to catch a few zzz’s before he went to work. Needless to say, the professor caught some of his own zzz’s. Would you like to share your Six Sentence Story? Go to Girlie on the Edge and submit yours.

Ten Things of Thankful – April 29 2022

Happy Friday and TTOT day! I took a bye week last week for a much needed staycation. Back in action (somewhat) as April winds down. Let’s do this!

Fridays with the family are back with tax season slowing down and family life picking up.
Daughter has a potential new opportunity with a program.
We got haircuts because mullets are not a good look on us. No offense to mullet wearers, because if it’s a good luck, go for it.
National Poetry Month has been – well – poetic. I was named the Poet Laureate for the Garden of Neuro Institute. The term is April to April. It is such an honor and I certainly could think of others more deserving.
Planning is in session for a virtual women’s retreat in the fall.
Write Now! is having their annual conference tomorrow. I am excited!
We are in the planning for the Fine Lines Summer Camp
Birds are showing great promise for Spring and the green has been especially luscious this year.
Our staycation was relaxing. I will confess that I worked some, but it was not so much on the computer but is reading/editing on paper.
