Love Knots

Her matron of honor worked the bride’s hair into love knots, adorned with ribbons of blue.

Her mother gently rubbed knots from her daughter’s hair to allow her nightly brush.

She tied her shoes in double knots so she could run without tripped strings and skinned knees.

She felt knots in her stomach when she experienced her first kiss, from the equally knotted boy.

Clover was joined in love knots, to create a crown for her pretend wedding at aged six.

All decked out for her first infant show, she cooed as her mother adorned her hair with ribbons of blue.

Band on the Run Again

How about a redo, friend

When the band can run and play again

A reunion it would be, fresh as 1973

Spinning vinyl playing anthems

Saluting the fact that they have returned

Oh to go back in time, rewind to band on the run, again

Winged with spirit, to propel

The heart took to flight

It soared in unison to the flow of the breeze

Touched flowers, delighted in being free

They found the essence of me
