For today’s prompt let’s write a poem reminiscent of William Shakespeare. After all, today is the date he left this world and just 3 days later would have been his birthday. You can take something he wrote and do your own interpretation of jazz up whatever you wish. As You Like It!!
Mother Earth
dearest mother earth
I am sorry for this loss
yet I see some gains
once the fuels burn much less
and the night shadows sleeping souls
Today is Earth Day! So, naturally we will use this as our prompt for today! Let’s write a poem about the earth, what it means to you, how it is changing, is it better or not, whatever you feel inclined to write about. And please do share!

An Always Kind of Thing
it’s in the here and now
when we have the time
to bring forth cheerful thoughts
and leave the days with sighs
with you near my heart
I feel my soul incline
it’s been there from the start
and always part of life
any day of the month
and as the months move by
the years they count for more
and make this life all right
…..
This is my response to writing lyrically. I took Ronnie Milsap’s “Almost Like A Song” and thought of these words to that tune.
Let’s write a lyrical poem. There have been a few times when I have written a poem which I thought could be put to music. Since I do not write music, I would need someone who does this to collaborate with me. Let’s give it a shot! Remember it doesn’t have to rhyme to become a song. Listen to some songs and you will hear what I mean. Of course, please do share your poem in comments by the poem or link. Thank you!
