On Your Mark, Get Set, GO!

I ask myself each day which mark I’m on.
It could be the starting point of a poem
or a long list of things I have to do.
I set my plan in place by listing tasks.
My mental gun blasts GO.
Like a runner, I follow the path to the end.

Happy Friday and TTOT Day! Let’s get started!

Things I am thankful for in no particular order:

Answers to come and received on daughter’s cranky body.
Projects to keep me mindful.
Cool days have visited this week.
The pool is back open. The latest glass scare turned out to be easily fixed.
Crepe Myrtles are blooming like crazy! When it gets hot is when they show off.
My apartment looks like a liquor store MINUS the liguor as we get ready to move. Grateful for boxes from the liquor store because they don’t tend to have bugs and smells.
A paying project is almost completed and I can move on to other things.
A new client.
Events are coming which have me excited.

Distraction

if I looked into your eyes
close enough to note your pupil size
this would be a distraction, maybe even a call for action
you’d accept this motion by becoming more responsive
with our eyes, with our musings, with our sighs
fulfilling each our wishes, intertwined

Ten Things of Thankful – July 30 2021

Happy Friday and TTOT Day – Can you believe we are already at the end of July! That’s just peachy!

Let’s slice up a bowl of peachy thoughts!

Daughter received injections and is gradually improving.
Daughter is having fun with her art class.
– 6. Air Conditioning! Ceiling Fans! Ice! Ice Cream! That is four thankfuls!
My back treatment on Monday seems to have helped and I have my last one next week.
The nurse for the back treatment is a sweetheart and I will miss her, but not the ouchy procedures.
I have a place to sleep each night.
Sisterhood of the Garden of Neuro group. I feel so much better from interactions with these lovely folks who are about the good vibes of the world. We had a lovely poetry workshop last night. I will probably share more about it later. You can check out the group Garden of Neuro
Books. I know I say that a lot, but I am grateful for books. AND in August it will be time for the Sealey Challenge where you can read one poetry book per day. I did that last year and it was fun. This year, I am moving and may have to make some adjustments. I want to finish some books I have started and post reviews. If I can do that for August, I may call it a success.
Building a better boat. I am not a sailor nor a shipmate in the for reals world, but I am working on an ongoing effort to make this part of my world a better place. I notice there is a stir of people who are also looking at ways to create positive change. I am grateful for the support.

I met Bingz via the Garden of Neuro and I read her book.

This book is one to read! It is about nurturing. It is about gentleness. It is about being gentle with yourself.

I am excited that tonight in the Garden of Neuro, Bingz will be presenting a workshop with one of her poems from the book. It is a workshop for women at the Garden of Neuro, a #Save and Brave Space for women.
