A nice, Strong Prompt!
Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and Sunday’s prompt word reveal for Six Sentence Stories!
In Sunday’s word prompt post of May 2nd, I entertained suggestions for future word prompts. To our delight, 3 writers: Susan, Chris and Paula, provided 3 excellent words. This week’s word is the 3rd and final suggestion, courtesy of Paula. Taking a cue from the word (no pun intended, lol), let’s consider the concept of “letting go.” Sometimes it’s in our best interest. As writers, this is easier said than done. Yet, the “experts” have shown us when all the words are written, when the story appears complete, it very well may not be. Until we go back and read it yet again. “Oh, that’s just the edit phase“. True statement. Yet, how often returning to a draft do we realize that perhaps a character isn’t needed? Maybe we thought we knew the story but…

Sisters Forever
I am better at being a superhero because I have superhero powers.
Oh yeah, well I have superhero secret powers that you don’t know about.
Oh yeah, well my powers are better than your powers.
And the rivalry plays on until another kid comes to the yard.
Hey, I have more powers than both of you, so ha!
Arms around each other’s shoulders, we are sisters!
…..
There you have it! That’s my Six Sentence Story Poem in response to the prompt: Rivalry

Good Morning! Happy TTOT! Let’s hop to it!

2. Tax season is over.
3. Kay Doiron, my cover artist and great niece finished the book cover art for my next personal book of poetry. This was just in time for the upcoming birth of her baby, to be determined by God’s own plan. I am so thankful when Kay does the art work. She always “gets” what I am looking for.
4. We had a nice turnout for the Book Launch party. I did not record it, but we had a great time.
That’s the book:
5. It’s been a different kind of week in that I am doing more art than usual. That is always a positive.
6. Daughter is going to PT and comes home sore, so it must be doing some good.
7. Did you know that when you ask for a blessing, you open a window and it may take a whole door to take in all the goodness. Yeah…I have to remember that. And I am grateful to have to open my door.
8. I had a first meeting with an awesome coach and now I have an idea to develop. It’s like it’s always been there and I have done some things about it, but I am gaining clarity. I started by writing something and submitting it and it was accepted. I have another writing project to work on along the same lines. #7 is the result of seek and you will find.
9. The pool is supposed to open next week and the temps are going up, so maybe, just maybe MarPril is moving on and allowing PrilAyUne to come along.
10. Welcome to the path where you can lead the way. You are never alone when you share with others. What are you thankful for? The kitty wants to know.

Jamie walked alone
on the Manhattan sidewalk
she made her morning trip
to the subway
last night, under the moon
where shadows allowed
lovers to steal kisses
in the distance
guitar music played
the musician was expecting
a bountiful night
strumming under a dogwood
with “TIPS WELCOME”
written on a slate
what a sweet adventure last night
while working the acrylics
with a palette knife
Jamie noticed him
he watched as she
scraped paint on canvas
his voice, meek as a lamb
he offered to buy her coffee
she told him “no, thank you”
he left on his bicycle
returned with tulips
she shared her spinach, avocado wrap
while observing dancing cardinals
they chuckled, observing a drunken bee
attempt to check the flowers
in the excitement
he asked her for a date
