This looks like a great challenge!

Welcome back to,Sunday Writing Prompt!

What constitutes “trash”? Dirty diapers…yes. Rotten food…should probably be composted, but yes, something to discard. What about that barely beaten sofa you upgraded? Or the vanity that still holds a breath of life, but needs a little TLC. Grandma’s attic…everything needs to go! Garage sales and thrift shops are all about turning one’s trash into another’s treasure. Even a spouse, who their significant other decided to “discard”, but became the most valuable person in YOUR life! It really comes down to perspective…

I’ve been looking everywhere for this!”

Paid $3.00 for a painting I discovered was worth $50,000!”

He is the best Stepdad I could have ever imagined!”

Adopted this puppy from the pound, and he became my best friend.”

I encourage you to write about “trash” that became treasure. Base it…

Happy Friday and TTOT Day! Let’s hop to it!

Things I am thankful for this week:

  1. Safe at home. There was a fire two stories up and we had water damages, but nobody got hurt and we are now back at home and safe.
  2. Beach time happened for a day trip.
  3. Bonus beach time resulted in fresh shrimp from the boat.
  4. Melons are pretty scrumptious about now.
  5. Daughter has gotten help with pain and hope to have more help today.
  6. We got lots of rain on Thursday and no hurricane damages here.
  7. Ability to do things.
  8. Poetry has been especially exciting as I see more people try their hand at it.
  9. My nieces new little baby girl is just adorable.
  10. YOU! What’s your week been like? How about sharing?

Boisterous, Bowling, Being Together is a Blast

Charlie bowled us over with his jokes.

Simone bowled so many strikes, she was declared the champion.

I was in the company of both people when Maureen brought a big bowl of popcorn.

We gathered some smaller bowls and helped ourselves to the delicious, buttery treat.

Harold could be spotted a mile away with his bowler hat, toting the sodas.

We all tried on his hat and had a fun, lighthearted time, full of snacks, fun, and togetherness.

Shades of Blue

She searched for alternatives for the painting of her life. Her paper was beautiful with shades of blue. They ranged from the brightness of the sky to the stylings of The Thrill is Gone. She wondered if she liked brightness the best or if she had to choose.

When she dipped her brush in the water, ready to thin her blue, she paused. Reflecting about where her journey had taken her, she shook out her brush and poured a cup of coffee and smiled.

….

this is my six sentence story in response to the prompt “alternative.” Thanks to Denise of Girlie on the Edge for her weekly prompts.
