Heart Beats Anthology

Heart Beats Anthology is Taking Submissions

Submission Information:

The Prolific Pulse is accepting Anthology Submissions

“Heart Beats” is an anthology of poetry about the various aspects of what makes us tick or makes a heart-beat.

This will be about love, life, happiness, anything that makes life more joyful or tolerable.

Let’s face it. These are tough times and there have been many events in 2020 which have many of us shaking our heads. People who were once friends have gone their separate ways. Some are soul searching, examining life more closely as time has leant more for this.

Heart Beats is about working through and maybe even overcoming these challenges. It is about what brings smiles to our faces or, at least, in our hearts.

Submissions will be accepted until December 31, 2020 What a great way to end this year.

What we accept:

Poetry of no more than one standard 8×11 page, 12-point font per poem.

Three poems per submission is the maximum to be accepted for consideration of publication.

Any form of poetry is acceptable. Ekphrastic poetry is accepted, but no photos or drawings may be used in the book. Shape poems may not be exact for printing.

A third person, short bio is required.

Place your full name, address, phone number, and preferred email address in the email. (this is for the editor’s use only)

Paste your poetry in the email body, NO ATTACHMENTS will be opened.

Keep it joyful, keep it friendly, keep it hopeful and your submission will be reviewed.

Deadline for submissions is December 31, 2020

Decisions will be provided by February 2021

Publication is slated for April 2021 (subject to change at the discretion of the editor)

Email submissions to: prolificpulse@gmail.com and put Heart Beats in the Subject line.

An acknowledgement will be sent within 48 hours.

All accepted writers will be required to sign a contract before final acceptance.

Please keep all submissions at a PG-13 rating at the highest.

Previously published works are okay if they are posted on Social Media.

Previously published works which have been published in a journal or internet-based publisher’s site are okay as long as acknowledgements are provided, and it does not violate any rights of the publication.

After publication, all writers who are published will be invited to read their poetry via an internet meeting and have this performance broadcast via the Prolific Pulse Poetry Podcast.

Thank you for your consideration for publishing in the Heart Beats Anthology

Respect

Aretha said it well
Singing it from her soul
it was about a man
but, you know, anything goes
R E S P E C T
just what does it mean to me?
Responding with care
Elegantly commenting
Stating with caution
Placing others feelings in perspective
Edging to the other side with grace
Caring before conveying
Taking the time to listen
