Today let’s write a piggy poem. It could be about pigs, piggyback rides, piggybacking poems such as writing a poem to honor a favorite poet. Scratch n sniff a bit and something is bound to take root.

The piggy that went to the market
Was a rover who never could park it.
The piggy that stayed at home,
Was a loner who seldom did roam.
The one that ate the roast beef,
Well, secretly he was a thief!
That’s why the fourth had none,
But he’ll never admit what he’s done.
And the piggy who cried “Whee”
Knows and tells all those secrets, you see!
