Ten Things of Thankful-January 6 2023

Have you ever played Scrabble? It is one of my favorite games! My sister and I love to play it and then when Words With Friends came out, we played that often. I miss her and the many discussions we had. As well as the sister movies. But it is time to move to TTOT, but it is AOK if I start with how I am thankful to have has a big sister and I know she isn’t far away, she is in my heart.

I am thankful for my sweetheart and we are celebrating his birthday! He asked me to cook him a prime rib and I am glad to do so.

Get this! I already completed my tax accounting and gave it to my sweetheart. I may have broken a new record!

Daughter created a cool holster/sling for her water bottle. She did it completely out of her imagination and we were WOWED at the end result.

Since I had some time over the holidays, I focused on some reading outside of my usual readings. Also, I am working on an art project. This is always a great way to get to my other happy place. When I get an idea, my brain keeps conjuring up ways to make it happen. It is great to have a shot of enthusiasm and time for what makes me happy.

Daughter has been furnishing me with supplies to help me with my project. And a friend is helping with feedback. It is all coming together.

It has turned into some lovely, warmer weather and the repairs of the sprinkler system has been completed. Just have drywall folks to wrap it up. I suppose that will be next week. Given the demand, I am grateful it was resolved.

I hope you all have many thankfuls this week. Feel free to join us each week as we share how ever many thankfuls we want to share. Ten is just a number, not a demand. Here is the link to join us:

It’s TTOT time and FriYAY! I hope your week was awesome as you may have shared with family and friends for the holiday season. I like to call it a season of joy and peace. Let’s see what this week was like…

  1. Gratitude for family who love me.
  2. Gratitude for six months of marriage to my love.
  3. Gratitude that daughter woke up early with enthusiasm about her Friday Fun Day today!
  4. Gratitude that daughter found some great deals at the place where she volunteers and had a gift card to pay for them.
  5. Gratitude that we were not flooded out when the sprinkler system burst. (We had an intital spraying, but my fast moving team saved the electronics which were under the vent.) Just an FYI…if the sprinkler system did not give out, throwing the bottom board to the ground, we would have been fully flooded and had to evacuate.
  6. Gratitude that those who were not so fortunate as we were have a place to go while their apartments are repaired.
  7. Gratitude for the fire department for coming quickly to shut off the system and the alarm.
  8. Gratitude for warmer days.
  9. Gratitude for heat.
  10. YOU What are your Thankfuls?

Happy Saturday! Today is divisible by 2. How’s that for being obvious. 🙂

Let’s count the happy grats!

  1. Healing of a friend. No more doctor visits!
  2. The scent of cookies compliments of our daughter. She is entering a cookie contest for her church event tonight. She tried a new to her recipe and it honors the Dutch tradition.

3. I found great deals on groceries.

4. Another book has been born and we will soon celebrate!

5. People who are kind in the stores. I am seeing more of this than ever. Maybe people are grateful for getting out of their homes.

6. Meeting up with an old friend in person.

7. A to do list of inspirations from other creatives.

8. Vacation is going to be a yaycation! I cannot wait!

9. A squirrel who startled me as he jumped by the window near my desk. He was so cute!

10. YOU!
