The Power Behind Armour

The Power Behind Armour

As she stood prepared to defend

Resistance showed with her sword

Magnificent with bronze hosting steel

Old as her grandmother’s soul

Under her armour her heart beat in sync

Reminding her of her power to make her own choice

Restore

Six Sentence Story prompt word is RESTORE – Let’s see what can be done…

Habitat for Humanity has several Restore stores in the area, when you need things for around the house, there are plenty of choices. Sometimes I go there with a friend to look for things for resale on EBay or similar places. I have even found freebies, such as drinking glasses. If you like to read, there are always interesting books. And there are movies, too. Plus, if you need home repair items, this is the place to go, they even have lots of toilets in what I call their “toilet cemetary” where old stools go to die; and one more thing is that you can donate to the Restore and they even pick some things up.

In Essence of Blues

She wore a blue ribbon, wrapped around her crown of curls when she had her first communion

as she grew up, she found that blue matched her eyes and wore it to feel more beautiful, despite it all

her wedding day came to be at her age of 18 and she wore blue satin, a blue rhinestone cross necklace, and earrings, all became keepsakes for years

several years passed when she found the color of blue to dress her sons in for their dates of birth

as time fetched on, she found her moods were blue, her eyes were pouring rains of blue, her heart, blue

she left this world, crossing the fine blue whisps and now, no longer knows the sadness, but the crystal blue peace

Window Treatment

She closed her blinds and held her book to her chest

Seldom did she read as much as she duressed

Seemed life was not the same without his face

Soon a beam of light across her graced

She realized the ray was his own sentiment

Suddenly she opened the blinds for window treatment

This is my Six Sentence Story/Poem for this week from the prompt “Treatment.”

Video King

He loved his video tapes, keeping them, cherishing every single video. There were sports videos, taped from favorite events, movies he favored, and even videos of personal recordings. When he moved with his family, he tossed out clothes, good ones too, even a wedding dress, to make room for his videos. His wife teared up when she found out that her mother’s red sweater was tossed aside to make room for videos. Now, he no longer has videos nor a video player. It has all turned to digital and so did his wife.

This is my contribution of sorts to the Six Sentence Story of this week with the prompt word VIDEO
