    childhood trauma of being alone
    the world could be better
    when the house is clean
    Alas now, her palace
    shines polished,
    scrubbed to
    a golden sheen,
    In quiet regret and wistfulness
    lying in her lavish boudoir
    she prays for a rag
    and some soapy water…
