Happy Friyay and TTOT time! Sorry I missed last week. My personal rule is that if I can’t give my full attention, it is better to pass. Once I post, I am also committed to read other people’s posts and to respond. I’ve been in a heavy reading mode which takes me away, but offers promises of possibiliities, so all is well.
Let’s get to those thankfuls.

Valentine’s Dinner Out with my Love – we don’t go out much, preferring to eat meals at home, even if it is take out. We needed to have supper while daughter was at her Night to Shine (Thanks to Tim Tebow) and stumbled upon this Italian restaurant in Wake Forest, NC It’s called Lelis and was it ever good. My love had his usual spaghetti marinara and I had gnocchi marinara with meatballs. It was such a delicious meal and reasonably priced.
So, I mentioned Night to Shine and was it ever! This was a great way to start out daughter’s birthday weekend! She and all other participants wore crowns and even rode a limo. Everyone was so beautiful in their outfits. The smiles were glowing and I can say that I believe a good time was had by all. We also picked up daughter’s best friend AKA sister-friend and those two had a blast! The chatter on the way and on the way home was lively.
The weekend continued with a celebration of daughter’s birthday. We ordered a pickup of her choice on Saturday and on Sunday, her actual birthday, we picked up an ice cream cake, made wings and sweet tater fries. She ended up sick for the night, but it was before the meal, so she had hers when she felt better. She is okay, now. It may have been a little bug, but she was fine for her Monday adventures. So, we are thankful for that!
Valentine’s Day was a nice, smooth day. We don’t usually do all out, mainly a nice dinner out like mentioned, but on the actual day I decided to take advantage of a free delivery option and order that. I just wanted the night off from the kitchen! We had a gift card that came in handy. Sweetheart did not have to work too late, so we were able to relax with supper. It’s tax season, so we can’t count on exactly what time he gets to come home.
Recently, I was able to spend time with another poet over lunch. We talked about a lot of things, including reminiscing about how we moved from acquaintances to friends. It’s good to celebrate and recognize people in our lives.

This week, I taught a class in the Garden of Neuro Institute called Crunchy Poetry. By that I mean we used some prompts to write poetry without worrying about form. That can come later, if desired. The results were amazing, but that did not surprise me. Sometimes we just need to let loose and let those words flow. And did those words ever flow! I am so fortunate to have met this wonderful group of women and share in the love of poetry.

Rest is important to our health. I did some reading and resting, managing to finish a couple of books and rebooting my brain. I hope that your week has gone well and that this coming week holds promise.
What are your thankfuls? Please share.
Carl participates in the Your Night To Shine here and he loves it every time. I’m glad your daughter got to go and i wish her many, many happy returns of the day.

Valentine’s day! I like celebrating it. It’s a day of love. If there’s a donut day, pie day, or whatever day, there is nothing wrong with celebrating Valentine’s day too. 🙂
