Ten Things of Thankful 10-22-23

Hans and Lisa at Duke Gardens

Howdy strangers! It’s been a spell since I’ve posted a TTOT. Let’s see if I can still do this.

1. I’m learning a phone app for this. So, here’s the link that was a challenge to present, voila!

2. I’m progressing ahead of schedule for rotator cuff surgery recovery. I’ve passed Phase 1 physical therapy and enter Phase 2 this week. I’ve got a new problem as a side effect of having to sleep in a different position, but I’ll have that assessed this week. Thankful for an experienced physical therapist.

3. There have been 2 books released and I’m moving forward.

4. Tax season part 2 has ended.

5. We’ve been on a staycation this week due to #4. I’ve still worked but not as hard.

6. Family time at Duke Gardens was lovely. The flowers weren’t as abundant but the temperature was perfect and I took lots of bench pictures and enjoyed the change of seasons.

7. Dear Heart has had wonderful feedback. This dedication inspired by my mother was well received as evidenced by the contributions.

8. I got to drive without a sling and it’s going well.

9. Daughter is having a great time in her day program.

Ten Things of Thankful-August 12 2023

Happy TTOT time!

  1. Happy Birthday to Me! I am so grateful for all the wonderful wishes. And for an especially awesome birthday month. I am also grateful for my sister friend who took me out for the day.
  2. We have experienced typica; NC weather this week. It worked out that I didn’t have to go out in the rain.
  3. For answers to my shoulder and that I have a best surgeon to handle it. This has been something I have dealt with for years, but the last episode didn’t go away.
  4. Flowers. I went to TJ’s and they started carrying tiny bouquets, which I love. So, I bought a little bouquet with pretty oranges, yellows, and purple.
  5. Writing buddies. I was able to meet with another writer on Friday and we chatted and then both got to work. It’s nice to get outside of my zone.
  6. That we have the choice to pray, ask for help, meditate to help others. Thinking of Maui, right now. Grateful I was able to go to Hawaii years ago and grateful that the fires are over and praying for recovery and more.
  7. Grateful that projects are abundant.
  8. Grateful for a trusted person to do edits.
  9. Grateful for love.
  10. YOU

It’s TTOT time! Let’s go!

  1. It has been a super busy week, but a productive one. My friend and I met up with other writers in person on Friday. This was a real meeting of the minds and so much was accomplished. It was nice to get together at the new bookstore in Cary.
  2. Tomatoes! One of the members of the abovementioned group brought his own garden tomatoes. Yes, please! Yummmmm
  3. Five Minute Energy Clearing from Ambika Devi. I met Ambika several months ago and she is an amazing writer, artist, and all-around great person. She shared this resource for taking just five minutes… It came at just the right time. I was clutter-headed and needed a reset. Here is the link: https://ambikadevi.com/5-minute-energy-clearing/
  4. Woo Wee! Two books out almost on top of each other. Two different books, both from prolific poets. One is a book of poetry and the other is a journal, but a very unique journal. They are both excellent. I don’t usually share these links in my TTOT but I am so grateful for these accomplishments I am breaking my rule. What Matters Journal show me the banksy
  5. Daughter was accepted to a new program and starts Monday. She is looking forward to it and probably to having time away from me.
  6. It sprinkled this morning and the temps dropped a little.
  7. Convenience to nearby stores. I love that we can actually walk to Mister’s pharmacy. The other one is across the street (not crossing that street YIKES). Excellent that they are close, along with grocery stores.
  8. It is almost time for the Sealey Challenge and I have my books all set. In my office, there’s a poetry book always nearby. Are you participating? Check it out. I know a publisher (clears throat) who has poetry connections…wink wink
  9. Just two more days and we can start my birthday month. It’s my trip before a monumental number in 2024. I intend to take this year up on its challenge. Just watch me or run along with me. Well, not run, I don’t move that fast! Oh yeah… I met a physical challenge this month and even received a T-shirt and medal.
  10. YOU What’s your thankful this week? Drop in the comments or create a post and link up below. Check out what others are sharing.

Ten Things of Thankful-July 14 2023

Happy Friyay and TTOT time! I have been away, sometimes just finding the time passes until after the deadline. I am always finding gratitude, but oops on my timing. Let’s get to it!

  1. Sunny days. I am hearing about ripening vegetables and I notice the blueberries are exceptional this year. Yum to the yum. When I went to the grocery, yesterday, they had the local farmer’s market table full of beautiful produce. Needless to say, my cart was filling up just from that selection.
  2. Rainy days. Following yesterday’s haul at the grocery, we did receive much needed rain today. It broke the heatwave and it’s nice to see a breeze from my window.
  3. Gifts. One of my dear friends sent me a beautiful gift from Greece. It is a collection of Chagall’s works. She understands my love of art and color. I will definitely be framing these.
  4. Books. At the business end of books, it’s been very busy. At the reading end which is a combination of business and pleasure, it’s also been busy. Win:Win
  5. Daughter got some great news about something she signed up for and we are thrilled. Can’t say more, right now.
  6. Yesterday, my dear sister-friend and I went on a coffee/tea visit and did some reading for projects. I read a manuscript and accepted it for publication. It always feels good when you find something that has that vibe and you can send a message to the author to share good news.
  7. If you have ever put a book together, you will be able to relate to this. Yesterday morning I was so frustrated because I could not get Adobe to behave. It had a mind of its own and I was ready to scream. Finally, I decided to just leave it alone and come back to it later. I opened it up this morning and it worked like a charm. Maybe my computer needed a day off.
  8. If you saw the mess on my desk, you may wonder if I have either been lazy, busy, or otherwise occupied. I refuse to own lazy. Busy for the win! And multi-tasking is nothing new for me.
  9. Comedy. I believe I have shared before that humor is my jam. Well, we had the Fine Lines Humor in Writing Conference last weekend and it was awesome. There was a lot of sharing. Plus, I love listening to comedy when I settle my brain for the night. Lately, Roy Wood, Jr. has gotten my attention. He has albums on Spotify and I just tune in and may go to sleep – not because of Mr. Wood, but because I am tired. Good thing is that I can pick up and start again.
  10. You! What’s your thankful this week? Share in comments or write a blog post. We would love to hear.

Ten Things of Thankful – June 9, 2023 Ten Years of Thankful!

Photo by Cup of Couple on Pexels.com

We are celebrating 10 Years! WOW! I haven’t been on board that long, but I am grateful to be on board now. My thankfuls are all about our vacation. We finally made it to Charleston SC and had a great time. You can see the highlights here, but I will add:

We went dolphin spotting and saw about 16 dolphins on the cruise. Captain Skip was awesome We were out for about 1 1/2 hours and experienced high speed crusing and idling for dolphins. As well, Skip educated us on sealife. We all learned quite a bit. How do animals get on islands? There’s you trivia quiz for today!

Daughter posed at Buc-cee’s and WOW was that a place! Great place to stop on your way in and out of SC. There was all kinds of tasty southern classics with twists. And of course we had to stop at the bookstores. We made it to three, but one I did not get photos because we were in a hurry due to parking challenges.

Charleston still has that old town charm, complete with historical homes and simply older homes with character. If those walls could talk… I am still processin so much about this trip. This was the first trip outside of North Carolina that we have taken as a family. We hope to have other adventures as time and budgets allow. We will treasure this one forever.
