Happy Friday and TTOT time! Are you doing the tip-toe through the tulips? It’s certainly that time of year in Holland. What kinds of flowers have you seen this spring?

Roses are welcomed for my sweet daughter as she is recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery. She is doing great! Her surgery was on Thursday, early morning. This means we were up early, but it all worked out very well because we are early risers (although I didn’t sleep well from anxiety about waking up HA). The great news is that we were out of there in time to grab a brunch to go. Grateful for her surgery going well, early surgery times, recuperating going well, she is walking around the apartment with her walker, she was able to find her dirty laundry for me to do (AHA), she’s eating well, the ice flowing machine AKA The Ice Goddess, Naps, Naps, Naps, and a phone to call any time of day or night. I believe that must be at least ten thankfuls. I didn’t count, but will now count all the wonderful well wishes, prayers, blessings, visits, and wows.

As we pace by the daisies of life, we are filled with gratitude for all the colorful events. All the preparations gone well; staying well-informed, tax season ending so I have my sweetheart here to help, staycation time (that took a lot of doing to make a week off happen). Clearing the head as much as possible for the current events to happen. Tender mercies abounding. It’s been good.
How has your week been? How about a share of your thankfuls in the comments, by your own post or … If you go to the following link, you can see other thankfuls and even add your own.

I’m glad Jodie is doing well. I personally love staycations, at the moment. I’ve travelled a great deal during my life and am appreciative of that. I enjoy a change in pace at home or doing special things with my family and then sleeping in my own bed. Enjoy your staycation.

Well, you know what kind of flowers I’ve been tiptoeing through this month (roses, azaleas, geraniums, petunias, and lilies forthcoming). Lol!! It’s been an INSANELY busy week. Editing my latest book along with lots of unexpected helping-friends-in-need calls and correspondence. A very good week but a busy one. Just lots of unexpected stuff this week. A preacher I’ve followed for 35 years passed away suddenly on Monday. The wife of a friend passed away suddenly as well. And I found out a church I used to go to before COVID is no more when the pastor left and moved to Kentucky. Even so, there is so much to be grateful for every day. So much joy. We are all truly blessed!! And I’m thrilled to hear your daughter is still doing well. 🩷

You’re so kind! Thanks, girlfriend. It’s been a crazy week for sure, and a busy one for you too!! But I’m glad your daughter is healing well. When my husband had knee replacement surgery I made him drink a protein shake every day in addition to his regular meals to make him heal faster. It made a big different. Have a blessed weekend!! (BTW, this is Laura Stamps…I always forget I have a different username on WordPress. lol!!).

My husband complained about them (lol!) but his surgeon was thrilled I made him drink one every day. His surgeon said that’s why he healed faster than normal for someone his age. As a workout person I know extra protein feeds your tissues, joints, muscles, etc. Makes you heal faster and greatly reduces your pain. I drink one every day, sometimes two. I think it’s one of the reasons why at 67, I still feel like I’m 18 and can be very active. I’ve tried lots of different kinds of protein shakes. I get a powder one at Walgreens called “Tone Up.” But my fav is liquid “Boost High Protein” (20 grams of protein per bottle). You can get that one at any grocery store, drugstore, Walmart, etc. I get the 6-pak. Comes in some tasty flavors!!

I make one that has no sugar due to diabetes. I add fruit and ice, or frozen fruit. They taste like milkshakes to me.

Yum!!!! How tasty!!!! Which powdered shake do you use that has no sugar? I prefer one with no sugar or a sugar substitute too.

totally love tulips but can never maintain the resolve to plant bulbs in the Fall (which I understand is the right way… never that big on deferred gratification)
“...although I didn’t sleep well from anxiety about waking up HA.”
surely one of life’s most effective illustration of the concept of irony lol
